Adapta and Mads Østberg have tested the Subaru WRC S14 that Mads will use in WRC 2009. In cooperation with Prodrive, who joined the test with 2 engineers, suspension and gearbox technicians, the Adapta team had a successful 250k test on good winter roads in Norway.
Mads is very happy with the test. The new car proved to be a good step forward, and Mads was impressed and very happy with the handling of the car.
- We had some interesting results, and I’m very much looking forward to trying the car again during the first round of the Norwegian Championship this Saturday, Mads says. Normally there will be a few adjustments we need to do when changing from test to competition mode. I expect to have sorted out all small details in due time, and will be well prepared for our first 2009 WRC event, Rally Norway, in February. I am really looking forward to do my very best for a good result in my home event, he concludes.
Mads’ program for WRC 09 will be: Norway, Portugal, Sardinia, Acropolis, Poland, Finland, Catalunya and Wales.
- Adapta is still working to get a second car on for the 8 rounds, but nothing is clear or decided in that direction. It has been speculated if Petter Solberg would be driving one of the cars in the coordinated Adapta/Prodrive program Mads will be driving. At the moment that seems not to be happening. But there are still five days to closing date for Rally Norway, and I do not exclude anything, says Morten Østberg, owner of Adapta. |
