Day 2 stages are finished for Mads and Jonas in Rally Deutschland, and they are on their way in for a 45 minutes service. That will be an easy match for the service crew, everything is working fine with the car, and only preventive work will be needed.
From a result point of view the rally was destroyed yesterday, with over 5 minute time loss on stage 3. They dropped to 54th over all, and have recovered to 20th over all at the moment, 8th in SWRC. According to previous reports results are not the major point for Mads and our team in this rally anyway. Main priority is getting used to the S-2000 type of car, that will the platform for WRC next year, get experience on tarmac, a surface Mads has limited experience with, and do Rally Deutschland for the first time, it will be in the championship also for next year. On all this important elements we are doing very well.
” We are working according to the plans,” Mads says. “The 3 drivers on the top are having a hard battle, and are probably going flat out, and they are very good drivers. I am not so far behind, without doing anything dramatic, I can honestly say. We did some changes with the car yesterday, which was in the wrong direction. We did some other changes today, which was good. I am getting more and more comfortable with the car, we are moving in the right direction. I hope we can do some more minor testing tomorrow as well.”
“Our pace notes were not good at Panzerplatte”, Jonas reports, “we could feel that earlier today, but we were going slow first time through. It was confirmed the second time through. Pace notes must be improved on next year reccy. Everything else feels OK.” Jonas says.
Tomorrow there are 5 stages and 85,7 k to go.
