M-Sport Stobart Ford World Rally Team's Mads Østberg and Jonas Andersson completed their debut with a fifth place on the rough roads of Rally Argentina.

The 23-year-old Norwegian have finished Rally Argentina, a rally with some of the toughest stages he has ever driven. He has set a new personal record after getting through the longest stage so far in this year's World Rally Championship a 48 km long stage, and climbed to an altitude of 2122 meters above sea level on another stage.

    - Today has been the coolest day of the Rally Argentina. It was important for us to get to the finish, so we've been driving with two new tires in the car today and I think we were the only ones who did it, said Mads Østberg.

Østberg made a little show for the spectators on the opening stage this morning.

    - It was really fun, and I really enjoyed that stage. I didn't push at all, and we just enjoyed the stage and tried to do some big drift for the audience some places, said Mads.

The tactics in Rally Argentina for Østberg was to drive with a large safety margin, and to get through the rally.

    - Overall I'm very pleased with the rally. The aim was to gain some experience and make good pace notes for next year. We have run just as we planned in advance of the rally, corrected the pace notes during the rally and improved them a lot, said Mads.

Stobart M-Sport Ford World Rally Team with Malcolm Wilson in the lead is very happy with Mads' implementation.

    - Mads has finished with good result and with proper driving just as the team wanted. He drove with 100 percent control, and have done exactly what he was going to, said team manager in the M-sport Malcolm Wilson.

The next World Rally Championship for the duo is Rally of Greece, from 16 until the 19 of June, and it is an event Østberg look forward to.

    - It will be good to get to a rally again that I know before, and I like Greece. The rally has a road surface that I enjoy, so I hope we can start pushing more again instead of learning the roads and hopefully we can fight with some of the good guys in front, said Mads.

Next weekend is the fifth round of the Norwegian championship, where Mads Østberg and Jonas Andersson returns back in their Ford Fiesta S2000.
